Hey All 🙂 Finally I could sit down and spend time on what I love doing the most- writing travel diaries for you all 🙂 So, let’s get started with day 1 of our Thailand trip.
We reached early in the morning about 3AM local time and by the time we got the visa thing done and reached the hotel it was around 6AM. We weren’t immediately given a room as it was too early to check-in and hence had to let our luggage stay at the hotel and started walking on the streets. We got to witness the calmer, quiet scene of Bangkok which otherwise is not the case 😀 After walking for quite a long around the non-bustling streets and the skyscrapers, we reached Starbucks for some breakfast.
Later we headed to this gigantic shopping mall, Platinum mall and gawd, time just flew by! This one, Guys, is shopaholics heaven. Literally! It’s like all those street shops we have in our city bundled up under an AC mall with cheap prices. I mean what else do you need?! The moment we made our way into this heaven, we were lost! *Sleeplessness, Tiredness, Hunger, Thirst, What are they?? 😛 * After filling up our shopping bags till our heart’s content, we headed back to our hotel and crashed into the bed. BTW, we stayed at The Grand Swiss which is in Sukhumvit. A very decent budget hotel right on the road which is rich in nightlife, eateries and street shopping and also close to the BTS station. Plus their breakfast option is quite satisfactory! I would definitely recommend this one for your stay in Bangkok 🙂
After that much needed sleep and rest, we freshened up and headed upright to dinner and then took a tuk-tuk to one of the most happening places in Bangkok- Khao San Road. The tuk-tuks in Bangkok are crazy. They looks like a mini-discotheque with all that fancy lights and the drivers take you for one hell of a ride which is nothing less than an F1 race. I mean it. I had this experience with all the Tuk-tuks I took in Bangkok 😀
Coming to Khao San road, this place deserves a separate blog post. There is so much happening in this single road that you could pass a night off without even having a look at your watch! Words or pictures cannot translate the energy of this place. Right from shopping to massages on the pavements, from fried scorpions to fresh fruits *yes, I said fried scorpions and insects as well 😐 * , from the most lively bars to ping-pong shows *If you know want I mean. If not, google 😉 * you have so much happening right here 😀 Unbelievable !! Loved every moment out here and this place is a must check out when you are in Bangkok, no matter what 🙂 We had to head back around 2AM when this place was still full of energy as we planned a long schedule for the next day!
We had a roll on day 1 in Bangkok, shopping and partying and hope you enjoyed the post 🙂 Stay tuned to this space as I will be back soon with another part 2 from Bangkok. In case you want me to write down any details from the trip I missed or that you would want to know in my next post, please leave a comment below or on Facebook, Instagram.
