Gone are the days when we used to match the saree color with the blouse. Now is the time of mix-and-match and contrast blouses. Even more, the traditional saree blouses are now replaced with shirts, jackets, vests and crop tops and this is all in! It’s about showing your creative side without making the whole look appear OTT.  Dressing up or dressing down for an occasion, its the blouse that plays the key factor (not to forget the accessories!) and don’t even think twice when you have to give it that required makeover 🙂
Here’s how pieces from western clothing made its way and substituted the saree blouse!

Sowmya paired this simple tie-and-dye saree with a contrast crop top which replaced the blouse. For ladies who do not want much of a skin show and want to look comfortable without adjusting the saree every now and then, crop tops are your best bet! The look is kept minimal by just adding a statement watch and red earrings for that dash of color.

Archana, on the other hand, paired a plain saree in gorgeous pastel peach color with a denim vest! Replacing blouse with Jackets is so in-vogue these days and adding a denim vest to a plain saree can add a definite elan to the entire look. She added a hairband and loop earrings to complete the look. Retro much! 🙂
